New Group Secretary sought for I&T DMG

Job Description
Job title: Secretary
Hours per month: Average 8 – 9 hrs a month, but majority of hours are in the months around the twice-yearly meetings (April and November)
Salary: TBC

Key Purpose
To provide secretarial support to the Inveraray & Tyndrum Deer Management Group

Key Accountabilities are as detailed below, but not limited to:

  • Work with the Chair, Vice Chair and Executive Committee to prepare agenda and papers for Group meetings and Executive Committee meetings, take minutes and distribute to membership, book meeting venue, invite participants
  • Collection, collation and dissemination of cull figures and cull targets to membership, twice yearly
  • Gather recruitment count data and mortality data
  • Update the DMP Action Plan at least annually or when required
  • Update the ITDMG website with information – meeting dates, minutes, maps, updated DMP etc
  • Liaise with the Treasurer and prepare accounts and budgets for group meetings
  • Calculate annual DMG subscriptions, prepare and send out invoices to members
  • Liaise with other organisations such as NatureScot and Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park
  • Forward on relevant emails to members, such as ADMG E-Scope Newsletters, consultation documents etc.
  • Handle any correspondence

Additional duties, dependent upon experience/skills

  • Use count, cull, recruitment and mortality data to update the group’s population model
  • Collate HIA data and map for dissemination to membership
  • Update and create GIS maps to show group information
  • Attend ADMG meetings and represent the group where necessary
