The management area extends to 59,137 hectares and ITDMG enjoys a good level of participation from among 23 members within the group. The two main management objectives of the group can be split roughly in two between deer and livestock production (26,805 ha), and woodland management (17,568 ha). The majority of the land is privately owned but public ownership is well represented with NatureScot and Forestry Land Scotland managing significant parts of the group.
